Summary | I am a theoretical physicist with diverse research interests, a passion for sailing, and an ever-present drive to improve. |
Work
-
2021 - Research Fellow
The University of Auckland
Research focusing on the reheating phase of the early universe, numerically solving the Einstein-Klein-Gordon equation in that region with some focus on the pseudo-solitonic 'oscillons' that often appear in such models. I also teach an introductory general relativity course (for which I have written a new set of lecture notes), and supervise undergraduate and master's projects.
Volunteer
-
2025 - Auckland, NZ
Peer Reviewer
The International Journal of Modern Physics A
I have served as a peer reviewer for this journal.
-
2022 - Auckland, NZ
Volunteer
Classic Yacht Charitable Trust
I help maintain and keep sailing the classic yachts owned by the trust, in particular Waitangi and Ethel.
-
2020 - 2020 Hamilton ON
Mentor
Graduate-Undergraduate Mentor Program, McMaster University
I served as a resource for upper-year undergraduate students considering a career in academica.
-
2015 - 2020 Hamilton ON
Volunteer
Sidewalk Astronomy, McMaster University
I assisted with providing live views of astronomical objects to the public on a weekly basis (weather permitting).
-
2015 - 2020 Hamilton ON
Planetarium Presenter
William J. McCallion Planetarium, McMaster University
I prepared and presented planetarium shows for public and private audiences. Feedback rating averaged 4.34/5.
